Chef’s Village is a multidimensional program that comprises an online learning system, scholarships to Montessori-based cooking schools for kids (ages 3-18), programs in partnerships with schools, and other resources.
We are currently in the process of building Chef’s Village. If you are interested in being contacted when this program becomes available, please contact us.
If you know of any students you believe would benefit from and qualify for a scholarship to our cooking schools, please let us know. Our first such school is in Portland, OR and it is already open!
These in-person schools use Montessori-based learning principles with a few twists. For one thing, all the students (ages 3 – 18) use full-size ovens, mixers, and other equipment. Also, each student has his/her own complete “little kitchen,” so there is no sharing required.
Here, students learn not only how to cook, but how to work and think independently. They learn pride in their abilities and they have creative control of their learning process. They learn math, science, and language as a natural part of the process. And at the end of each class they have created a dish they can enjoy and bring home to share with their families.
